About Sinister Tidings

Here you will find a collage of likes and dislikes from RTS’ Spyder Collins. The primary focus is to bring fun and indie flashes of art and not so mainstream artists. There is nothing fancy, revealing, political or otherwise world shaping. Just things, introductions, reminiscing and fun in the world of literature, art and music, to which I hope you enjoy and find some pleasure in.

The Forever Girl Sophia's Journey - Rebecca Hamilton

What can I add to Forever Girl that hasn’t already been said? For me this was truly a fresh and intriguing tale. With all the attention it is a wonder how or why Rebecca Hamilton is not a New York bestselling author, by choice perhaps?

Sophia Parsons is a practicing Wiccan who casts a spell that goes horribly wrong. With that mistake come personal demons to accompany her already troubled life. The story follows the paranormal activities that occur to the Wiccan crooner who must survive her choices and a life that is encrusted with darkness seemingly at every turn. It is this struggle that the plot rides and does so very well.

For me, I found the characters fresh and believable. The storyline, though stale at points, always recovered in a big way. Intrigued, curious and hungry is how the book leaves you – meaning one thing, on to book two.

For the fan of the paranormal genre, this will certainly please your literary palette. For horror lovers, there is that element but if you are looking for a scare than move along. I have read that Forever Girl is a multi-genre series, I have yet to see this but can’t really argue the point. What I can tell you is that the tale is sharply written and there is much to fall in love with here with Mrs. Hamilton’s muse.

Forever Girl is a well-crafted story with characters that are both believable and likable. As well, the antagonist, perhaps Charles is also well designed and serves the role justice.  Overall – add it to your personally library both as a reader and writer, we can all learn something from Rebecca Hamilton.
