About Sinister Tidings

Here you will find a collage of likes and dislikes from RTS’ Spyder Collins. The primary focus is to bring fun and indie flashes of art and not so mainstream artists. There is nothing fancy, revealing, political or otherwise world shaping. Just things, introductions, reminiscing and fun in the world of literature, art and music, to which I hope you enjoy and find some pleasure in.

Graveyard Shifts - Laura Del

Pat Wyatt is a freelancer but really, she is so much more. Graveyard Shifts: A Pat Wyatt Novel is a traditional story about werewolves with a central character that drives the tale, makes it rich with personality, and give a shit. Not one to fall in love with the traditional romance that involves hairy creatures or the pointy teeth undead, but Del delivers so much more with a great character.

Pat Wyatt can evolve into one of those characters that people love and will follow throughout a series. She is real, strong yet susceptible – she is human and for many writers that is a hard reality to achieve with their own characters. Besides Pat, the storyline and other characters (mainly Michael and Samuel) are well drawn out and delivered. The plot moves along nicely and is firmly written.

Overall, Graveyard Shifts is a great read with great potential as a series providing Del stays true to her characters. There isn’t much to say negatively about the story – it is what it is, which is a traditional tale, no real twists or unforeseen potholes, it is a well-written fast-paced story that is certain to please the avid reader.
