About Sinister Tidings

Here you will find a collage of likes and dislikes from RTS’ Spyder Collins. The primary focus is to bring fun and indie flashes of art and not so mainstream artists. There is nothing fancy, revealing, political or otherwise world shaping. Just things, introductions, reminiscing and fun in the world of literature, art and music, to which I hope you enjoy and find some pleasure in.

On the writer's iPod – The Hellfreaks

From time to time, my muse stumbles onto a song that does the trick to put her into a certain mood. These songs are from bands with the talent but for purposes of this blog, my muse would like to share the tune with you and allow you to wander off into the virtual music world and introduce yourself to the band and all their offerings. This is sometimes due to the song being on a large playlist from a mainstream band and other times for more obscure bands that perhaps aren’t as wide spread across the virtual creative space. Or, sadly, the band is no longer together but the music lives on in my muse’s iPod.

The Hellfreaks charmed a certain tune called “Boogie Man” that produced a certain, shall we say lust for the macabre. Unique sound and feel to The Hellfreaks, one that really does bring out the more bizarre side to the muse.

The beat is steady … paced and the vocals are nice bit of insanity. Boogie Man is just one of those tunes that grow on you each time you spin it. On first listen of this Turkish based band, my muse was a bit skeptical. She kept coming back though and in time, this tune made onto the playlist and it isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
